PHYSICAL EDUCATION, SCHOOL SPORT, CLUB LINKS (PESSCL) SURVEY
A big thank you to everyone in our partner schools for their efforts in collating and submitting data in July for the National PESSCL survey and for their commitment to High Quality P.E., Daily Physical Activity and School Sport. 68 out of our 69 Partnership schools completed the survey. Each year we strive to make the data collection as robust as possible in order to inform the direction of the Partnership’s work and provide the information required by the DCSF to secure continued funding. This year’s results were confirmed in October and demonstrated that The East Devon School Sport Partnership continues to compare favourably when measured against other SSPs nationally:
-
The percentage of pupils in East Devon accessing 2 Hours High quality PE and School sport rose from 91% to 93% in 2006-07.
-
The number of pupils involved in inter- school sport rose to 41 % moving from 2% above the National average in 2006 (07) to 6% above this year’s national average.
Percentage of pupils accessing 2 hours high quality PE and School Sport Having met the national PSA target a year early, our focus now is to begin work on planning strategies that will support our schools in meeting the new 5 hour offer and Devon’s PEDPASS vision.
